Designed by Ferdinand Porsche, more than 21 million cars were produced from 1938 to 2003. The VW Beetle is certainly one of the most famous and recognized cars in the world.
The car, identified by Volkswagen as “Type 1”, is known in the various countries around the world with adaptation of the German word “Käfer”: in Italy Maggiolino, in Anglo-Saxon countries Beetle, in France Coccinelle, in Spain Escarabajo.
The VW Beetle has four comfortable seats, is noiseless – also with the hood down. Our Angela is the right car for those who want to enjoy their trip without worries and without hurry, at cruising speed, enjoying the landscape, scents and colors of valleys and hills.
Our Beetle Cabriolet is the iconic model 1303, production numbers of about 330,000 units were made between 1970 to 1980. Registered in Modena in September of 1974, Angela has spent her life running around hills between Modena and Bologna, with occasional rambles on the Romagna waterfront. Carefully cared for and preserved over this time, she has bewitched us with her enchanting beauty and charm, achieving transfer from Modena hills to Langhe.
Practical advice
Angela is a comfortable and quiet soft-top convertible, made for a gentle drive, at moderate speed, travelling with low noise and moderate air turbulence even with the hood down. Accessibility is very good for front and rear passengers.
Steering, although not servo-assisted is good even by today’s standards, thanks to a large steering wheel, the car is easy to handle even when maneuvering. The clutch pedal is operated with minimal foot pressure, gear change is simple to use and with just a little practice this beauty is a pleasure to drive.
The car is equipped with front and rear drum brakes, with hydraulic assistance.
Luggage advice
The luggage compartment is located at the front of the vehicle. Above the spare wheel and safety/emergency equipment, there is enough space for two cabin sized trolley bags or even a piece of hold luggage.
